VizKit

VizKit is a basic, open source sample visualizer plug-in for iTunes.
It is a cross-platform (Mac OS X/Windows) samplework.

Version 3.0 for 64-bit iTunes will be released in February 2012
The visualization is implemented with OpenGL.
The main features are:

  • Album cover artwork texture generation
  • Unicode anti-aliased texture of the track title and lyrics
    including custom font loading
  • Configuration dialog with about info
    and font menu
  • Automatic notification on screen if update is available online

The distribution contains a project directory for Apple’s Xcode and a separate directory for Microsoft’s Visual Studio.

The source code files are shared across the projects.
